This hospital opened a new surgery center in March 2012 that is LEED Gold certified, boasting water efficiency, energy savings and improved air quality through its design. Marymount Hospital has also had an embedded Green Team since 2009 that spearheaded the clinical plastics recycling program, leading Marymount to be one of the first community hospitals to undertake the program. Its sustainability efforts have achieved national recognition, as Practice Greenhealth awarded Marymount a Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award this year.
