13 Maryland Hospitals Team Up to Promote Local Food, Health

Thirteen hospitals across the state of Maryland have committed to buying and serving local foods for the annual Buy Local Week, a project of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission, which will be July 19 through July 27.

The Challenge’s leaders have partnered with Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment to encourage them to serve at least one local food each day during the challenge. The hospitals will also encourage their employees and communities to take part in the challenge, which embraces a move toward healthier food choices at hospitals, according to a news release.

Western Maryland Health System (Cumberland)
