The research projects address the first four areas of PCORI’s National Priorities for Research and Research Agenda: assessment of prevention, diagnosis and treatment options; improving healthcare systems; communication and dissemination research; and addressing disparities. The new funding, which is part of PCORI’s second cycle of primary research funding, brings the total awards for research on these priorities to $129.3 million. PCORI also granted $30 million for a series of pilot projects, according to the release.
PCORI’s funding aims to provide patients and caregivers with evidence-based information to make better-informed health decisions, according to the release.
