Patient safety tool: New APIC guide to reducing CAUTIs

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology has released a new, free edition of the Guide to Preventing Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections.

The updated version of the CAUTI reduction guide expands on the 2008 version and contains updated information on the epidemiology and causes of CAUTI. It also gives information on surveillance and reporting of CAUTIs and has new content on patient safety, the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program and other models for CAUTI prevention.
