The Clinical Leadership Collaborative for Diversity in Nursing program is a health equity partnership founded by the organizations in 2008, according to a July 20 news release.
The expansion, funded equally by the partners, aims to recruit and retain more nursing students from underrepresented communities. UMass Boston will provide financial support and accelerated nursing programs while Mass General Brigham will provide employment opportunities. The funds will also create a behavior health equity certificate.
Over five years, 400 students are expected to complete the program. So far, the program has provided opportunities to 135 graduates and has a 100 percent certification rate and 92 percent placement rate at Mass General Brigham hospitals.
