Anesthesiologist Dr. Nishan Goudsouzian Receives Ellis Island Medal of Honor for Charitable Service

Anesthesiologist Nishan Goudsouzian, MD, received an Ellis Island Medal of Honor for the St. James Armenian Church in Watertown, Mass., according to the Armenian Mirror-Spectator.

Dr. Goudsouzian received the award for his philanthropic involvement, including on the executive board of the Friends of Armenian Culture Society and the boar of the Armenian Cultural Society of Arlington.

He traveled seven times to Armenia to provide aid, including airlifting earthquake victims to the United States and establishing a rehabilitation unit. He also collects unused medical supplies and equipment to send to Armenian hospitals.

Dr. Goudsouzian has been a pediatric anesthesiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital for 45 years. He’s published 150 medical and research articles and authored two books.
