Pennsylvania became the 43rd state to join the Nurse Licensure Compact.

The law will go into effect July 7, allowing registered nurses and licensed practical and vocational nurses in Pennsylvania to hold a multistate license, according to a June 24 organization news release. This licensure enables nurses to provide in-person and telehealth nursing services to patients in other NLC states without having to obtain additional licenses.

Connecticut and Massachusetts have also chosen to join the NLC, though no date for implementation has been determined.
