NCQA Chooses iCare as 1 of 8 Plans for Complex Care Coordination Study

iCare, Wisconsin’s independent healthcare plan, has been chosen to participate in a National Committee for Quality Assurance study on best practices for integrating complex care.

The plan is one of eight chosen for the study, which will examine fixtures of healthcare services that lead to better care for those with complex conditions, according to a news release.

In particular, NCQA will follow iCare’s Family Care Partnership Program, which is a managed care program integrating Medicare and Medicaid services.

iCare began as a CMS research program for testing the best way to implement managed care in vulnerable populations, according to iCare CEO Thomas Lutzow, PhD, in the release.
