The 71-year-old woman left the hospital some time after 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, and staff realized she was gone around 8:30 a.m., said Heather Young, director of strategic communications for the University of Michigan’s division of public safety and security. UM police immediately reported the woman was missing on the Michigan State Police’s Law Enforcement Information Network and told police in Walbridge, Ohio, where she is a resident.
The public was notified of the woman’s disappearance at 7 p.m. Aug. 27, and she was found about an hour later.
