Minimizing the risk and costs of OR injuries

Workplace injuries are a serious and expensive concern for healthcare facilities across the country.

While 73 percent of nurses have access to safe patient handling technology and mobility equipment, only 51 percent use the technology every time they move or transfer a patient, according to an American Nurses Association report.

During a webinar hosted by Olympus Corp. of the Americas, Miki Patterson, PhD, president of Optimizing Performance Solutions, will discuss how implementing more effective patient lift technology in the OR can reduce injuries and subsequently decrease associated costs, such as workers’ compensation or workdays missed.
