The toolkit was released in September 2015, and since then, Stamford (Conn.) Hospital, which uses MEDITECH’s EHR, has reported a 50 percent reduction in hospital-wide urinary catheter use and a 70 percent reduction in UTIs. MEDITECH plans to release a sepsis prevention toolkit later this year that will include additional educational materials on quality measurements to reduce hospital infection rates for CAUTIs.
