Las Vegas hospital shuts off water amid Legionnaires' threat

Las Vegas-based Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital shut off its water Oct. 2 after discovering Legionella bacteria in its water supply, reports CBS affiliate KLAS-TV.

Rawson-Neal discovered the bacteria during routine water testing and immediately informed local health officials. The hospital started disinfecting its water system Oct. 7.

The hospital should regain running water by the end of this week, pending test results. In the meantime, Rawson-Neal has been providing bottled water for patients and staff members.
