New Jersey county reports suspected mumps outbreak

The New Jersey Department of Health reported a cluster of suspected mumps in Hunterdon County.

The potential outbreak involves eight members of one family and is related to international travel, according to a March 5 news release from the health department. No additional information is available due to privacy concerns, but the department is urging the public to be aware of mumps symptoms and stay up to date on the measles, mumps and rubella shots.
