IHS officials are not aware of infected patients; however, 35 patients have been recommended for testing thus far.
The hospital’s podiatry clinic will be closed “until procedures are implemented to ensure future incidents will not occur,” according to the Sioux City Journal, which cited a Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska press release.
A worker from AB Staffing Solutions allegedly caused the breach in safety protocol and has since been terminated.
The CDC is currently reviewing the situation.
