House Committee Approves Drug “Track and Trace” Bill

The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee has approved a bill that would create “lot-level tracing requirements for manufacturers, wholesale distributors, pharmacies and repackagers” of drugs, according to an AHA News Now report.

The so-called “track and trace” legislation would also would require the FDA to issue regulations on unit-level traceability by 2027.

The Senate Education, Labor and Pensions Committee is scheduled to consider somewhat similar “track and trace” legislation next week.
