Via Christi to Construct $9M Surgical Cancer Institute

Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health System plans to start construction next month on a $9 million surgical cancer institute, which will be located within the Via Christi hospital on N. St. Francis in Wichita, according to a report by the Wichita Business Journal.

The project is being developed with input from Cancer Center of Kansas, one of the largest oncology group practices in the area. The institute will feature 40 private rooms dedicated to cancer inpatients, family areas and several private sleeping quarters and an integrative therapy center, which will include yoga, massage and music and art therapy, according to the report.

Construction is expected to be complete in one year.
