Due to recruitment difficulties, Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health announced an agreement with Emeryville, Calif.-based staffing solutions company CEP America to help staff the ED in three of its hospitals, according to The Wichita Eagle.

More than 25 physicians and 33 PAs and NPs already working in the ED of three Witchita-based Via Christi hospitals — St. Francis, St. Joseph and St. Teresa — will begin to work with CEP starting June 15.

Via Christi CMO Darrell Youngman told The Wichita Eagle he thinks the partnership will improve recruitment to Wichita and efficiency in the ED. He also said he thinks most physicians will choose to become employees of CEP.

The physicians will have the opportunity to own stock in CEP, like a traditional physician group practice, according to the report.
