The aim of the new collaboration, called UC Health, is to provide care “unlike other health organizations in the Tri-State area,” according to the report. Among the combined resources are the only level-one trauma center in the region, a successful stroke team, the region’s largest physician group and the research department at the UC College of Medicine.
UC Health is not a merger, and the University Hospital will remain aligned with Health Alliance. Support from the organizations will be provided to the UC College of Medicine and may help attract more research funds and physicians to the school, according to the report.
