According to the report, the three groups signed the letter in March but did not make the news public until this week. They plan to finalize the deal in the next two months.
The groups wanted to affiliate “to answer society’s call for more integrated models of care,” Jay Harris, chief strategy and business development officer at UCSF Medical Center, told the San Francisco Business Times.
The medical group, known as SCCIPA, has 803 physicians and is the largest individual practice association in Santa Clara County, according to the report.
