Texas Health Resources also acquired PhyServe, the management services organization that has served the MedicalEdge physicians and their business operations.
In a separate transaction, MedSynergies, a provider of hospital-physician alignment solutions, will acquire PhyServe from Texas Health.
Texas Health’s acquisition of the group will allow it to become a “‘medical home’ for thousands of North Texas Patients,” according to Douglas D. Hawthorne, FACHE, CEO of Texas Health Resources.
MedicalEdge features 250 locations and employs more than 420 physicians and physician extenders.
Terms of the deal, which closed Dec. 31, were not publicly disclosed.
