On the other hand, 14 percent of physicians said their practice is doing worse while 33 percent reported no change.
Still, rates of optimism among physicians in small- and medium-sized practices are on the rise: 89 percent of physicians reported being satisfied or extremely satisfied with their career despite challenges. That figure is 20 percent higher than the year before.
Physicians cited advancements in medicine, patient compliance and improvement in the healthcare workforce as the top trends influencing their satisfaction. Major stressors cited include insurance and reimbursement rates, patient compliance issues and practice administration concerns.
