The survey is the sixth annual critical self-assessment of physicians across the Golden State.
“CAPG developed the Standards of Excellence survey to annually assess and publicly report on the progress physician groups are making towards being a national leader in coordinating a patient’s care,” said Wells Shoemaker, MD, the medical director of CAPG. “The survey is a blue print for how to assess the tools and processes physician groups have in place to meet the escalating expectations of healthcare purchasers and patients.”
Seventy-three medical groups who care for a combined 11 million patients participated in the survey. Of the medical groups surveyed, 30 organizations that care for more than 9 million people qualified for an “elite” category, which means they are well-equipped to provide high-quality care for patients.
