Mr. Phillips started work on Nov. 1. He retired four years ago as CEO of a hospital in Branson, Mo., and has since worked as an interim CEO, mainly for hospitals in the southeast United States.

The national search continues for a permanent CEO to replace Earl Fitzpatrick, who was fired in Sept. 2010. According to the report, the hospital should choose a new CEO by February.
