The HIE already includes 19,000 physicians and more than 80 hospitals, long-term care facilities and other healthcare organizations. The two hospitals are now connected through their participation in the HIE’s DOCS4DOCS Service, which acts as a single source for information such as lab results, radiology report, transcriptions, pathology and more from all participating Indiana hospitals. Results can be viewed through a web-based portal or can be sent directly through an electronic medical record system.
