Gov. Sandoval signed the bill into law June 2 and it will go into effect July 1, according to the report. Nevada joins 16 other states and Washington, D.C., in allowing patients full, direct access to nurse practitioner services, according to a news release from The American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Physician groups in Nevada previously expressed opposition to allowing nurse practitioners an increased scope of care.
