The decision comes nearly a year after former Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman (R) vetoed a similar bill on the last day of the 2014 legislative season, effectively blocking lawmakers from overriding the veto after they unanimously voted to pass the bill.
Nebraska is the 20th state to grant NPs this right.
