In addition, approximately 65 percent of the hospital’s 100 physicians voted “no confidence” in the hospital board. Due to confidentiality agreements, those who were present during the vote could not disclose reasons for the lack of confidence in Mr. Solheim or the hospital board. One physician did state, however, that the physician-administration relation has been on the rocks for years.
The meeting for the confidence votes, which took place on May 25, was motioned for by an unnamed physician, according to the news report.
As a result of the “no confidence” votes, St. Peter’s board of trustees created a subcommittee to address physicians’ concerns regarding the hospital CEO and board. The subcommittee will meet “throughout the month” and report to the hospital board’s July 25 meeting.
