MedStar Health Expands Outpatient Network

Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health is expanding its outpatient clinic network by adding two urgent care clinics, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

MedStar is seeking permission to open an urgent care clinic and physicians’ office in Washington, D.C., and another similar office in Gaithersburg, Md., according to the report.

Adding additional urgent care clinics is part of MedStar’s strategy to move away from providing high-cost care in a hospital setting to providing care in a network of outpatient offices, according to the report.
