Kankakee, Ill.-based Riverside Healthcare is opening an obstetric hospitalist program.
The new program is designed to improve patient safety and provide better work-life balance for community physicians, who the hospital previously relied on being on call for its OB needs, according to a March 5 system news release.
“Introducing an OB Hospitalist Program is an important step forward for both our community and our care teams,” Kristi Panozzo, associate vice president of Riverside Medical Group, said in the release. “This partnership strengthens the support available to our Women’s Health providers while ensuring our patients continue to receive high-quality, compassionate care at the Family Birthing Center. It’s a win for our team and a win for the families we serve.”
Staffing and scheduling details will be finalized in the coming months.
