House Passes Legislation Removing 3% Withholding Provision Under TIPRA

The House of Representatives has passed legislation that would remove the 3 percent withholding provision under the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of 2005, according to an AMA news release.

According to the news release, the provision would have required the government to withhold 3 percent of Medicare payments to physicians. The bill now goes forward for a Senate vote.
