The CIN collaborates with providers to jointly contract for at-risk and value-added contracts with health insurers and large employers on a state-wide basis, according to the report.

The founding members of the CIN include Jackson-based Allegiance Health, Kalamazoo-based Bronson Healthcare, Saginaw-based Covenant HealthCare, St. Joseph-based Lakeland Health, Midland-based MidMichigan Health and Lansing-based Sparrow Health System.

Henry Ford Health System replaces Allegiance Health’s spot in The Federation after Henry Ford acquired it April 1.

“We have great respect for Henry Ford and are delighted to have them join us,” said Dennis Swan, chairman of The Federation’s board and CEO of Sparrow Health System.
