Here are five things to know about Dr. Woo.
1. Dr. Woo will maintain several responsibilities as vice president of neurosurgery in Northwell Health’s central region, and serve as vice chair of neurosurgery, director of cerebrovascular surgery and associate director of the neurosurgery residency program at North Shore University Hospital.
2. Prior to his appointment at Northwell, Dr. Woo served as vice chair of the department of neurological surgery at Stony Brook (N.Y.) School of Medicine and director of the cerebrovascular center and neurocritical care unit at Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital. He was also a professor of neurological surgery and radiology at the medical school.
3. Dr. Woo led the cerebrovascular center at the Cleveland Clinic from 2002 to 2007.
4. He received his medical degree from New York City-based NYU School of Medicine in 1995.
5. Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Woo is the founder and CEO of Vascular Simulations, which provides simulated, life-like solutions to help interventional neuroradiologists practice procedures prior to actual treatment.
