Sutter Medical Center in California Turns to Public for Funding for New Hospital

Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento, Calif., is looking to the public in hopes of raising $6 million, which will go toward building a new hospital in Sonoma County, according to a Press Democrat report.

So far, the hospital has collected approximately $4 million from hospital employees, physicians, board members and philanthropists. Construction of the new hospital is expected to cost $284 million. It will have 82 licensed beds and a universal care unit that allows the hospital to expand overnight bed capacity by another 116 beds.
