Dartmouth-Hitchcock Acquires Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Physicians

Lebanon, N.H.-based health system Dartmouth-Hitchcock has acquired physicians formerly employed by Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt., according to a Rutland Herald report.

As part of the deal, Southwestern Vermont will purchase physician services from Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Dartmouth’s newly acquired physicians will continue to operate medical practices themselves at Southwestern Vermont, according to the report, and the two healthcare organizations have created a joint operating council comprising management and physician leaders from both organizations.
