The executive director of the Camden Coalition, Jeffrey Brenner, MD, a physician with Cooper University Hospital in Camden, helped advocate for state legislation last year that authorizes Medicaid ACOs, according to the report.
While legislation passed to form ACOs in New Jersey, regulations have yet to be promulgated. Colorado is currently the only state with an operational Medicaid ACO, according to AHA News Now.
Camden GPS is a violence-prevention effort in Camden that offers additional resources and support at Camden hospitals for victims of violence under the age of 24, providing additional care and guidance in an effort to reduce the likelihood the victims will return to the hospital.
