The final rule for CMS’ accountable care organizations is nearing the end of the rulemaking process as it has been sent to the White House for review, according to a HealthData Management report.
CMS has sent the final rule for accountable care organizations to the Office of Management and Budget for review — one of the last steps in the rulemaking process, according to the report. Once approved, the rule will be published in the Federal Register.
The proposed ACO and shared savings rule was released March 31 and received a considerable amount of backlash.
