Here are eight transactions between hospitals, health systems and physician practices — beginning with the most recent.

1. Lake Region Bone and Joint Surgeons Merge With Sanford Health
Bemidji, Minn.-based Lake Region Bone and Joint Surgeons has merged with Sanford Health, based in Fargo, N.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D. The practice, which includes three orthopedic surgeons and nine employees, will change its name to Sanford Bemidji Orthopedics Clinic.

2. Ohio’s Humility of Mary Health Acquires Cardiology Practice
Three-hospital system Humility of Mary Health Partners, based in Youngstown, Ohio, has acquired Diagnostic Cardiology Associates, a seven-physician cardiology practice based in Poland, Ohio.

3. Tennessee’s Methodist Le Bonheur Acquires Internal Medicine Practice
Memphis-Tenn. based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has acquired Penn Marc Internal Medicine, which is based in Memphis includes three physicians and nine employees.

4. New York Presbyterian Hospital Acquires Cardiology Practice
New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City has purchasedHudson Heart Associates, a five-cardiologist practice in Suffern, N.Y. The cardiologists will remain at the Suffern office and also expect to continue treating patients at Good Samaritan Hospital, also in Suffern.  

5. Minnesota’s Essentia Health Acquires Two Clinics, Pharmacies
Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health System has acquired two clinics and three pharmacies from Two Harbors, Minn.-based SuperiorHealth. Essentia will operate SuperiorHealth’s Lakewalk clinic in Duluth, its clinic in Proctor, Minn., as well as the group’s three pharmacies in Duluth, Two Harbors and Silver Bay, Minn.

6. Indianapolis’ St. Francis Medical Group Acquires Indy Southside Surgical
Indianapolis-based St. Francis Medical Group acquired Indy Southside Surgical.  The practice includes five surgeons who have been affiliated with St. Francis Health since 1989. They now operate as part of St. Francis Medical Group Indy Southside Surgical.

7. North Carolina’s New Hanover Regional Medical Center Acquires Two Heart Groups
Two cardiology groups have joined its NHRMC New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Physician Group, based in Wilmington, N.C. Wilmington (N.C.) Cardiology and Coastal Cardiology Associates, also based in Wilmington, have merged into Cape Fear Heart Associates and have joined the physician group. The two practices include 16 physicians and seven mid-level providers.  

8. Atlanta’s Piedmont Healthcare Signs Letter of Intent With 38-Member Physician Group
PAPP Clinic, a 38-physician multi-specialty group in Newnan, Ga., signed an exclusive letter of intent in February to pursue affiliation with Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare as part of the system’s physicians group.
