CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, an insurer to residents of Maryland and Washington, D.C., has reported that nearly 75 percent of physicians in its network are now participating in the care-coordination effort it launched in March, according to a report from The Hill.
The participation of more than 2,000 physicians makes the care-coordination effort the largest of its kind, according to the report. The program also pays primary care physicians up to 12 percent more for their involvement.
