Though 74 percent of NPs and PAs are happy with their job, different factors drive that satisfaction. According to the survey, here are five things NPs and PAs enjoy most about practicing medicine:
1. Work environment and/or staff: 37 percent
2. Patients and/or the ability to make a difference: 28 percent
3. Pay and benefits: 27 percent
4. Autonomy: 21 percent
5. Variety, challenging cases and/or the ability to grow: 14 percent
The survey’s findings are based on responses from 395 physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
