3 Top Indicators for Successful Private Practices

Overall, private practice managers and physicians find that the revenue generated per day is the most important indicator that drives the running and improvement of their practice, according to a study by WhiteSpace Health Care.

The consulting and research firm has released the results of its study on the drivers behind challenges facing private practice.

The population of the study included hundreds of physicians and practice managers representing several specialties from around the globe. Several one-on-one interviews were also conducted with leading healthcare experts, consultants and economists.

Three indicators that drive the running and improvement of private practices, according to the study, are:

Revenue generated per day — 58 percent reported that it was the most important indicator driving their practice
Cost per visit — 52 percent reported that it was second most important indicator driving their practice
Number of visits per day — 44 percent reported that it was the least important indicator of the three driving their practice
