Thirteen-hospital Mountain States Health Alliance, based in Johnson City, Tenn., has plans to participate in the federal Pioneer Accountable Care Organization program, according to a system news release.
Integrated Solutions Health Network has submitted an application to CMS to participate in the federal Pioneer ACO program. Under the program, ISHN will form an ACO called AnewCare Collaborative. MSHA is the parent company of IHSN. The ACO will combine the expertise of a wide range of healthcare providers throughout the region, including hospitals, physicians, pharmacies, laboratories, public health agencies, home health agencies and more.
“Regardless of how the federal government chooses to define it, the accountable care model is still the future of healthcare delivery, and the best option for patients, payors and providers,” said Dennis Vonderfecht, president and CEO of MSHA.
MSHA is ISHN’s primary stakeholder with 13 hospitals in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Southeastern Kentucky and Western North Carolina.
