HHS Calls for Applications for Infection Control Award

HHS and the Critical Care Societies Collaborative are calling for applications for an award recognizing healthcare teams that have reduced healthcare-associated infections.

The awards will be given to teams of critical care professionals and healthcare institutions that have demonstrated systems of excellence for reducing and eventually eliminating HAIs, according to the press release. The targeted HAIs for the 2013 awards cycle are catheter-associated urinary tract infections, central line-associated bloodstream infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia.

Applications are due Dec. 19.
