The four hospital CEOs are Patricia Maryland of St. John Providence Health System in Warren, Mich., Brian Connolly of Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn, Mich., Mike Duggan of Detroit Medical Center and Nancy Schlichting of Henry Ford Health System. The health agencies targeted to improve effectiveness are the Greater Detroit Area Health Council, the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority, Voices of Detroit Initiative and the Michigan Cover the Uninsured Network.
Ms. Schlichting told Crain’s Detroit Business that the CEOs believe each organization should develop a set of core services and focus on those to eliminate duplication. The effort to eliminate redundancies could save money and benefit Detroit residents.
Work is also underway to merge GDHAC with Cover the Uninsured Network, according to the report.
