The grants support services such as housing, nutrition, transportation, childcare, and access to mental health and primary care.
“We sought out organizations who are truly making a difference by removing barriers to better health,” Posh Charles, senior vice president of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, said in an Aug. 1 news release.
At a July 31 event, Northwestern Medicine honored the grant recipients, including The Grace Network, which will expand its hygiene support services for students, and DuPage Pads, which launched Illinois’ first hotel-to-interim housing conversion initiative.
