Twenty-five percent said, “Medicare should be changed to a system in which the government would guarantee each senior a fixed amount of money to put toward health insurance,” which is similar to the plan proposed by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.).

Broken down by political affiliation, 83 percent of Democrats, 71 percent of Independents and 53 percent of Republicans would like to keep Medicare how it is now.
