The video, called “Gundersen Petri Bowl,” adopts a sportscast style and pits “infectors” and “preventors” against each other in several patient care scenarios. It includes three different scenes in which infectors fail to perform adequate hand hygiene and preventors perform the correct techniques.

The video was selected for its “creativity, originality, general appeal, significance to the infection prevention community and entertaining and educational message,” according to a news release.

The health system will receive its award at APIC’s 46th Annual Conference, June 12 to 14 in Philadelphia.
