Georgia launches new healthcare database for consumers

The Georgia Department of Community Health launched a new, more user-friendly version of the state’s healthcare facility website Jan. 7, about a month after a computer glitch took the site offline, reports The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The website, called Map2Care, features state licensing and inspection information for thousands of hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities in the state.

Patients can also fill out a complaint form on the site, requesting the state investigate a specific facility.

Officials said the site aims to give consumers greater transparency into all healthcare facilities overseen by the state.
