The light fixture utilizes “continuous environmental disinfection” technology and has been shown to render a wide-range of microorganisms inactive, among them the bacteria responsible for C. diff and MRSA, reducing the risk of patients contracting infections.
The Indigo-Clean fixture outputs a high-intensity narrow spectrum light that produces a chemical reaction within the bacteria, killing them like bleach or a disinfectant might. Because it is still in the visible spectrum, it is safe for use in the presence of patients and staff.
