Dr. Patricia Stone named editor of APIC’s journal

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology has selected Patricia Stone, PhD, RN, to serve as editor of its peer-reviewed journal, the American Journal of Infection Control.

Dr. Stone has served multiple terms on the AJIC editorial board. She succeeds longtime editor Elaine Larson, PhD, RN, who will retire in December.

Dr. Stone is the Centennial professor of health policy and director of the Center for Health Policy at Columbia University School of Nursing in New York City. She was previously director of the school’s PhD Program.

Over the course of her career, she has led large-scale studies on the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of infection prevention and control practices. She has authored more than 200 publications and is a recipient of APIC’s Distinguished Scientist Award.
