Clorox Healthcare Partners with Ultraviolet Devices to Create UV Surface Disinfection Technology

Clorox Healthcare has entered a first-time partnership with Ultraviolet Devices to create the Clorox Healthcare Optimum-UV System, an infection control system designed to disinfect surfaces with ultraviolet light.

The four-lamp system utilizes short-wave radiation at 254 nanometers, which destroys any microorganisms’ DNA.

After using the system with regular disinfecting practices, both Clostridium difficile and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus were reduced 99.99 percent when compared to control surfaces, according to a news release.
